Supporting Our Military
At Lone Star Oral & Facial Surgery, Dr. James Mazock and our team are proud to honor veterans and show gratitude to our service members. We stand with our armed forces and are privileged to treat active-duty personnel, retired military members, and their families. We are also credentialed VA providers.
If you are a service member eligible for VA dental benefits, you can request an outside or civilian referral from your VA clinic dentist. We know VA dental care can sometimes involve long waits—up to a year in some cases—and we want to help make that process easier for you.
With VA approval, we provide a wide range of services, including:
Dental implants
Extractions
Pre-prosthetic surgery for dentures
Pathology treatment
And more
Whether you’re stationed in San Antonio or have chosen to make our community your home after years of service, we welcome you for all your oral surgery needs. We strive to make every patient feel at ease—especially our military men and women—by providing care that is both professional and comfortable.
To learn more about our surgical services for the military community, call us today to schedule your consultation. With offices in Castroville and San Antonio, Lone Star OFS is here for you—wherever you live in San Antonio or the surrounding areas.
We Come from Military Families
We understand how important it is for military patients to receive safe, effective oral surgery that helps them return to duty—or back to daily life—as quickly as possible. That understanding comes from experience: Dr. Mazock proudly served in the U.S. Navy and worked alongside the U.S. Marine Corps.
Our connection to the military runs deeper than service alone—many of our staff members have close family ties to the armed forces. We know firsthand the dedication, hard work, and sacrifices our military men and women make to protect our country and our way of life. It’s an honor to serve those who serve us.
We’re Proud to Work with the VA
If you’re receiving oral surgery through the VA, we’re happy to coordinate with them whenever needed. While the VA has its own dentists and oral surgeons on staff, we have partnered with them to provide advanced treatments and help improve access to care when necessary.
If you would like us to consult on your treatment, please don’t hesitate to give us a call—we’re here to help ensure you receive the highest quality care possible.
Dedicated to Making Surgical Care Available to Everyone

That’s why we’re committed to offering affordable treatment options and working closely with our patients to create payment plans that fit a wide range of budgets.
In some cases, we have even donated our services to patients in need, because everyone deserves access to quality surgical care. If you have concerns about the cost of treatment, talk with our team—we’ll do everything we can to make your surgical care both accessible and affordable.
